About the Jewelry
Most of my designs include a collection of beads from many lands. Some elements I make myself. I purchase just about anything that catches my eye from a number of sources. The result is that every piece I create is like no other you will ever see.
Some of the materials you will find in my work are:
Most of the bracelets and necklaces are strung on wonderful multi-strand flexible steel cord, which will resist stretching and breaking. All knots are glued. Most of my jewelry includes textile elements, which are already frayed, or will fray over time. The frayed threads add to the vintage look and create unusual texture. Feel free to trim any ends that seem unruly to you, and maybe touch the ends with a dab of nailpolish to keep them tidy.. Many dangling pieces are wire-wrapped for extra security. Earrings are hung on antique bronze niobium hooks. Niobium contains no nickel and is considered hypo-allergenic.
Repair Work
I make every effort to make my jewelry durable. I hope that it will last forever. Of course tugging children, rubbing metal, hard surfaces striking the glass, and water can all be hazardous to the beads and string. I am available to repair (or restring if necessary) any piece that I made with currently available materials. I may ask that you pay for the shipping plus a fee for labor (to be determined by the job).
Custom Work
I can create a custom design if you have special materials you'd like to include in a necklace or bracelet. It can be a great way to revive old or sentimental jewelry.
